Undetectable smoke detectors

Chinese temple ceiling  Buildings of cultural or historic significance often feature beautiful internal decorations. Screwing large white smoke detectors onto those ornate ceilings is detrimental to the aesthetics of the room and is not permitted in some ancient buildings. Architects of new buildings are also reluctant to have smoke detectors ruin the lines of their design.

The solution? Invisible smoke detection.

A VESDA air sampling smoke detector can be installed so as to be invisible to someone at floor level. Tiny capillary tubes are used to draw air samples and can be concealed in a variety of ways. The actual smoke detection units can be installed in a remote location or inside a cupboard or other concealed space.
