Fire detection solutions for Cold Storage Facilities

With an operating temperature ranging from 8°C to 45°C, conventional ‘passive’ smoke detection systems do not reliably function or operate in cold store environments. Their design, electrical components and reaction response to not provide proactive smoke detection in the event of fire.

Why use a VESDA system?


Superior performance in large open spaces where smoke tends to stratify, never reaching conventional point-type detectors located on the high ceilings of warehouses or storage facilities.	Remote monitoring and configuration of detectors in unmanned sites.	Multiple configurable pre-alarms provide control in a fire situation, for example, very early warning for investigation and subsequent warnings to intiate automated fire department notification, evacuation and suppression.

The ability to locate sampling holes where smoke will travel and to position the detector in a location that is easily accessible for maintenance.	The installation of sampling points in or near mechanical equipment, providing the earliest possible warning of a threat.	A VESDA systems wide sensitivity range provides the best solution in areas of high airflow where drafts through open doors dilute smoke and make it difficult to detect.
