Technical Description
The PRECISION range of universal detector mounting bases has been designed to support the mounting of any of the PRECISION intelligent detectors. The various base models allow for permanent mounting of the detectors to ceilings or walls of the protected space.
The universal mounting bases have a wide interior diameter for ease of access to cables and terminals and there are two slots for fixing screws. The slots enable two fixing screws to be located at a spacing of 2–23/4 inches. Detectors fit into bases with a simple clockwise rotation.
By means of a unique PRECISION “Addressing Card”, the detectors address information is held in the base while keeping it entirely free from electronic parts. The detector address remains the same even if a detector is replaced, e.g. in case of servicing or damage.
Mechanical Description
The PRECISION universal detector mounting bases provide strong plated steel terminals for reliable electrical connections for each detector. All terminals are marked according to their function.
The ground (earth) connection is not required for either safety or correct operation of detectors. It is isolated and is provided for tidy termination of grounded conductors or cable shields and to maintain earth continuity where necessary.
